Phantom Blade Zero Using Phantom Edges

Quick Answer

Phantom Edges are secondary weapons that complement your two main weapons. Use them for a specific job: ranged pressure, a tactical effect, or an exploration obstacle that your current main weapon cannot solve.

Phantom Edges are secondary weapons that complement your two main weapons. Use them for a specific job: ranged pressure, a tactical effect, or an exploration obstacle that your current main weapon cannot solve. They are not simply another name for the primary weapon-switch system.

Match the tool to the obstacle

The announced arsenal includes ranged options such as a bow and cannon, along with tools that can assist exploration. Early hands-on exploration showed unreachable anchor points and objects that suggested returning with a suitable tool. Some paths are designed to become accessible after acquiring later secondary weapons.

Ranged Phantom Edges add options beyond your main melee weapons.

When you reach an obstacle, inspect what it is asking you to interact with. A distant target, a damaged barrier, and a grapple anchor are different problems. Remember the location and return after expanding your arsenal instead of assuming you missed a jump input.

Use a secondary slot to fill a gap

Think about what your main weapons already do well. If a main weapon can handle shields, you may be able to use a secondary slot for ranged attacks or another tactical option. If neither primary weapon answers the problem, an appropriate Phantom Edge may give you another route through the encounter.

The pre-release design also allows some secondary attacks to damage an enemy's health directly rather than working only through its Sha-Chi. That does not mean every Phantom Edge ignores every defense.

Check your actual input and resource cost

Preview controller layouts identify R2 with Phantom Edge use, but the complete release layout and the resource rules for each tool are not established here. Read the equipped tool's description and on-screen prompt before spending it. Do not assume ammunition, charges, cooldowns, or refill behavior are shared across the entire category. As of October 23, 2026, this is a system overview rather than a complete tool-by-tool walkthrough.
